Yokai River bear “川熊” #37
川熊は、秋田県に伝わる妖怪である。👻
昔船頭が岸に船をつけたところ、水音とともに船を揺らす大きな手の影が現れた。
あわててナタで切り落としたところ、猫の前足のような巨大なものが転がっていた。
それを川熊の手として今でも大事に寺に保存してあるそうだ。

The river bear is a yokai from Akita Prefecture. 👻
A long time ago, a boatman was pulling his boat onto the shore when the shadow of a large hand appeared, rocking the boat with the sound of the water.
In his haste, he cut it off with a machete, and found a huge paw-like object lying there.
The hand is said to have been carefully preserved as the hand of a river bear.
