妖怪河童は、子供のような姿をしていて、緑色のぬるぬるした体をしている。
背中に貝殻、頭にお皿を乗せた日本ではお馴染みの妖怪だ。
キュウリと相撲が大好き可愛いイメージの妖怪だが、
水遊びをしている子どもの足を引っ張り、川底に連れて行くという怖い裏の顔があるのだ。
河童は「堕ちた神」と信じられており、人が住む川辺に現れて悪さをすると言われている。

Yokai kappa looks like a child and has a green, slimy body. It is a yokai with a shell on its back and a plate on its head.
She loves cucumbers and sumo wrestling. It has a scary habit of pulling the legs of children playing in the water and taking them to the bottom of the river.
Kappa are believed to be “fallen gods,” and it is said that they appear at the riverside where people live and misbehave.
