護摩壇山は、岐阜県の水害の多い地域で信仰されている水神様だ。
古来より、川が氾濫しやすい場所に護摩堂を建て、水害を防いでくれるよう祈願してきたという。
岐阜県に限らず、日本各地では井戸など水が湧き出る場所に水神様を祀る神社が建てられてる。
About Yokai Gomandosan
Gomandosan is a water god worshipped in flood-prone areas of Gifu Prefecture.
Since ancient times, people have built shrines to Gomandosan in places where rivers are prone to flooding and have prayed to the deity to prevent flood damage.
Not only in Gifu Prefecture, but in many places in Japan, shrines to water gods are built at wells and other places where water flows out.
